The Great Hawker Named-After-A-Weather-Event Aircraft Group Build Day 4

Good evening,

Had a few more hours to potter away with the Typhoon. I have, if not solved the problem of the closed undercarriage doors, at least got me a fix I'm happy with. I cut off the wheel struts that were molded onto the inside of the doors...

...and cut some card that I glued inside the wing to...

  • Support the closed doors to give them a bit of strength

  • And so's they'd hopefully sit flush with the wing itself

I've even managed to apply a bit of paint!

Next thing - paint the pilot.

Model on,

Nick

    1. Thanks John.

I had previously tried to close some Thunderbolt u/c doors that weren't designed to be closed without any internal support. It didn't work so well. I'm hoping this'll solve this potential problem for the Typhoon...though I won't know 'till I glue 'em!

  2. Funny enough Nick I am using the same method to rectify the same issue, however I am using plastic rather than cardboard.

    Good progress!

  4. Mine took a bollock load of filing to fit in at all, it was rather annoying.
