I'm pretty sure Andy's used tape for the straps. I'm almost certain they don't come with the kit.
Having begun painting my Typhoon, I marvel at how quickly you got your Hurricane done to such a high standard. I've used Humbrol acrylic for the sea grey, and, well...
Hi guys, cheers for the great comments.... :) The straps arent included, I borrowed the idea from another modeller in this great quest for all things Hawker (based on weather events of course...), and just painted them with Vallejo Buff.
As for "masterpiece", not quite....still have to finish this birdie!
Your using Humbrol Acrylics Nick? Thought you would have used Vallejo paints as they are easier to get and paint better with a brush....although it has been a few years since I last used any Humbrol Acrylics.
Hey Andy. Yep, Humbrol because a) they're cheaper, but primarily b) that's what the instructions said! I am using one Vallejo paint and it is going on smoother. May even attack some patches of the Humbrol on the wings with a light sanding of wet 'n dry paper. Anyone tried it?
By jingo's I think we are about to see a masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteWell done Andy.
Ain't that the truth!
DeleteFor those who haven't already, check out his Thunderbolt!
Very nicely done indeed! The cockpit detail is top banana - are the straps included in the Airfix kit?
