The Great Hawker Named-After-A-Weather-Event Aircraft Group Build Day 16

Good evening,

Another night of ignoring the clamour of the sword of Damocles that is the impending doom of reports where I decided to play with my toys instead!

And here is the result.

First coat of the Ocean Grey top camo (I pencilled the pattern onto the plastic beforehand - not real good with the whole freehand thing)...

...and I filled in the...sink holes? Mold marks? The indents on the underside of the Hurricane's tail planes.

Oh yeah, and I fitted the Hurricane's undercarriage.

Next step is to apply the Dark Green to the Typhoon, and then tidy the paint up, 'specially the division between the top and bottom coats.

Model on!

Nick

  1. Good progress Nick - especially as you're working on two models at once!

    1. Thanks Tim. It's good fun! Though I really really need to start those blimmin reports...I'm hoping I can get both done before I run out of time.

  2. Hey Nick, I've been reading your posts about the group build. They are a good guide for who wants to build his own airplane (like me ;-D). I have seen a lot tips and tricks. The models that you are building look awesome!

    Like you say: "Model on"!

    Greetings

    1. Cheers Peter. Glad you're enjoying the posts. And learning stuff!

It's been quite a while since I put a plane together. Now that I'm wargaming I have a decent excuse to play with them after I've built 'em!

      Cheers,

      Nick

  4. Reports...Just do what Al does, first 4 reports on top of the pile get A's, middle of the pile (15 reports) receive B's, next 6 reports C, last two D, then repeat sequence until you run out.

Seems to work for him quite well.

Cracking progress on the Hawkers. Keep up the good fight.
