PSC UC End State

Good evening,

Here are the Plastic Soldier Company Universal Carriers in their end state.

Lovely wee kits. The headlight was a bit of a pain to fit, and the mudguards took a little figuring out, but, once they're all together...lovely!

  2. Bravo Nick, some of your best work yet! (from what I've seen anyway).
Some tasty weathering and a well painted crew.
You Kiwis had the Labour Day holiday today I think, is that how you had time to finish these beauties off?

    1. Thanks John. Yep, they came out pretty nicely. And yes, Labour Day has meant that I got some planning done, and some painting!

Still haven't got my reading ready, and I'm on road patrol first thing in the morning, so...not sure what I'll do there!

  3. These look great. The driver and gunner must really know what they are doing as the guys in the back look very "relaxed" ! ;o)

    Cheers, Dave

    1. Ha! :-) Good point Dave, yes they do indeed! Not so sure I'd be lounging around in the back like that on the way to the front!

    1. If not sooner! My reports have to be in to my syndicate head by the beginning of Week 6, so...after then...

  6. Really nice, just reminds me to check if the Hat British Tank Riders would fit, so I could add a bit more variety when I get around to building mine

    1. Thanks Will. Have a look at the previous post about the HaT bods. Yes, if you take their packs off, they'll fit, but they are smaller than these PSC blokes.

  7. Nice work. Can't wait until these become available in my neck of the woods. Looks like PSC may have made the prices of the IBG UCs drop by about 30% as well. Hopefully my copy of "Australian Military Equipment Profiles Vol.2" will arrive soon so I can start planning some LP2 UC conversions.

    1. Thanks. Umm, sorry, what?! What's an IBG Universal Carrier? An LP2?

    2. IGB is a Polish model manufacturer. Go to the bottom of the page at http://henk.fox3000.com/ibg.htm to see their 1/72 UC kits. LP2 is the Aussie pattern UC which nobody seems to care about.

    3. Ahh, thanks for that. Man, joining all those track links must be very...challenging!

As for the LP2, how different was it, and would you really notice the differences in 1/72?

    4. The front hull and headlamp differences are pretty noticeable. Tracks and other areas not as much:

    5. Ah, I see what you mean about the headlamps especially. Scratchbuild those atop the PSC or IGB kits?

    6. I'll probably work off of PSC kits. As you noted, the IBG kits are ab bit over-engineered.

    7. Good call. These go together really nicely.
