PSC Carriers Construction and Comparison

Good afternoon,

After a mere half hour or so, of the carriers is basically complete.

As you can see, they're a little longer and wider than the Airfix version, but less noticeably than I thought.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...these PSC models are very well engineered, and go together beautifully.

    1. They're pretty cool Dan. Could do with a few more clues as to how to fit Bren gun, and the light on the Mark 2. Otherwise they almost make themselves!

  3. To my eye the difference between these and the 1/76 Airfix (which I think might actually be underscale?) is just too much and as I already have a heap of the latter I'm going to have to watch these go by with more than a tinge of envy...

    Cheers, Dave

  4. Considerably bigger than the old Airfix, but they should be.
A great looking kit with heaps of uses- looking forward to getting mine.
Thanks for posting the pics my friend.

    1. Yep. Like Dave said, the Airfix are underscale - look how high the driver sits compared to the real deal. These are pretty cool, yours can't be too far away.

By the way, contacted PSC, and they've apologised for missing my request for the freebee, and are sending out the promised free sprue. Of what, I don't know - I've asked for another Pz IV, but then realised that that's actually two sprues!

  5. I checked out the size of the Airfix against the drawings and it is close on length in 1/76 (46.9mm Airfix vs 47.7mm true)and about 0.3mm too wide(24.9 mm Airfix vs 24.6mm true)! I don't own any but from photographs, PSC seems to be on the big size for 1/72.

    1. Great work with the measuring and stuff. I've just had another look at that Bren Gun Carrier clip, and I dunno...the real ones were wider than I thought. If anything, I wonder if the PSC ones are not quite long enough...or maybe the infantry are just a touch too big!
