Christmas Is Cool!

You know, apart from the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without whom we are all lost...

Good morning,

Yesterday I played the first couple of games of my Christmas present, Star Wars X Wing Miniatures game...

I just have the boxed starter set (as above), and have on order, thanks to the very kind generosity of the parents of my class, another boxed starter set (a cheaper way of getting more minis!), and...the Millennium Falcon!

The first couple of games were a bit quick, but that last one I played with Matthew was very cool - lots of dog fighting, twisting and turning and such. I was lucky he split his TIEs so I could take them on one at a time with my X Wing. Even so, it was a pretty close run thing!

Merry Christmas,

Nick

    1. Now that would be cool. Might have some scale compatibility issues though Paul. 1/72 vs. 1/270. Still, some of the digits are the same...

    1. Hi John,

      Cheers bro!

Nah, just this (bought by me to give to Tracy to give to me!) and a USB stick.

      How'd your haul work out?

    2. No toys this time, I figured I had enough that aren't painted or built yet.
Got a new raincoat, edible goodies, a couple of books, and an outdoor table and chairs (shared).
Our family went to see the opening of "The Hobbit" first thing this morning- great fun, although I was a bit annoyed by some additions and departures from the book.

    3. Haven't seen it yet. Most everyone I've talked to are raving about it.

  3. Sweet haul! I asked for it for Christmas, apparently I wasn't that good this year ;). But seriously I got some fun stuff and we are loaded to the gills with the kids toys that we somehow have to fit in the luggage.

    1. Thanks! Last night my son Matthew was complaining that the TIE fighters are out matched by the X Wing, so I proceeded to take out said X Wing with them - twice! It's all about team work. You have to keep the TIEs together, fighting as a unit. (And it helps if the X Wing pilot keeps forgetting to use his Target Lock ability!)

      Have a great holiday Sean,

      Nick
