Bren Gun Carrier

Good evening,

Should be ironing for the coming week, but, well...

Recently won me a 1/72 Airfix Bren Gun Carrier and 6 Pndr off Trade Me, and am slowly pulling the kit together. Found this on You Tube...

...I didn't know they had Chev V8s in 'em! They sound so much cooler than I imagined!

This is obviously an Aussie one, though the ones made here in En Zed were identical.

Now to find a spare Bren gun to stick through the front...

  1. Cool find Nick. The army in Invercargill had one about 25 years ago that I have worked on. It was in desert colours and still going. I also came accross a guy down there who was resoring one that had been fished out of a near by river.

  2. Thanks Roger, that's way cool. (The army was in Invigiggle?!)

    Cheers,

  3. I have got some of the wheels at work...

The Airfix kit is hassle free. Steal A Brem off the Old ESCI or Italeri Brit Bren gunfigure laying down.

    Easy fix.

  4. Umm, whatdayadowithit? The wheel, that is...

Yeah, Stan's got hold of a box of Esci Brit infantry for me, I'll be able to grab a Bren off one of them.

    Cheers,

    Nick

Who's just discovered the wisdom of washing the plastic before applying paint...

  5. Hi again Nick, we use the wheels to roll the hanger doors open and shut.

I am flabbergasted that you have just learnt the remove plastic oils before painting!

  6. I always wash the miniatures, but consider my oversight an indication as to how long it has been since I made a model kit!

  7. Looking forward to what you will make of it. Actually I've seen on for real some time ago, hidden away in a hangar. It was one of the Belgian forces in WW2.
