VSF Brit Stronghold

Good morning,

Here, in all it's undersized glory, is my first iteration of a Stronghold for my VSF Brits.

It's a [free PDF] paperware product from the Wargame Vault. I scaled it as per the instructions, but it's a tad too small. Probably right for 18mm, but not 20. Still, it's a PDF file, so's alls I's haz to do it reprint it...sometime.

In the meantime, it'll do the job.

"I say, Ogilvy, come have a look at this..."

(My 25mm Ground Zero Games Gun Spider. Cool wee model, but I'm still trying to figure out how to highlight it properly.)

HOTT Carnage, Game 3

Game 3

Undead vs. Lost World.

A steep hill to the west, a piece of bad going in the centre of my deployment zone (bother it) and another steep hill in Mark's deployment zone.

I took a Magician General, one Hero, one Dragon, two Knights, a Rider and four Hordes. Mark had a Magician General, four Warbands, two Flyers, one Behemoth and a God. Thankfully.

I advanced on my right, Mark advanced on his right and we tried to meet somewhere in the middle.

And lo and behold, my Dragon arrived on the field. Horrah!

Mark advanced his Behemoth with the intention of running down an easy Horde. I interupted his plans with my Hero and a supporting Knight.

In the meantime I advanced the Dragon, thinking that he'd whet his appetite with a flyer.

Mark's Behemoth stuck around long enough for me to bring up the aforementioned targeted Horde to help beat up the Behemoth, and low it was indeed beat up.

In the east the Dragon kept struggling with the Flyer (oh come on - factor +6 to factor +2...come on...), while Mark continued to advance his Magician and second Flyer.

While all this was happening, Mark's warband burst through the bad going and charged into my Stronghold. My Hordes that I brought back to stop them, well, didn't!

And low and behold, Mark's God turned up...

...and left the next turn! Much to the amusement of all who witnessed it!

The same turn that his warband squashed themselves against my Stronghold. And that was the game.

The Dragon never did cut down it's opponent. Useless!

Skellie God and Stronghold

Good evening,

Once again, to annoy Robin with more incomplete elements, here are my HOTT Skellie God and Stronghold.

They are actually two purchases from the $NZ 2 Shop, part of some figurine set that came with a toy warrior and wizard respectively, complete with these accessories. I just painted them us as I did the rest of the Skellies - black undercoat, dark grey (well, ok, the Skellie Hordes missed this step), light grey and white.

If you're wondering, the skull didn't actually come munted - I left the skull glued to its painting base and thought the PVA might dry quicker if I left it on top of the wood burner. Opps!

Still, now it looks more like an ancient ruin. To aid that impression, I intend to build up the base so as the skill is half buried in sand. When I get round to it...
