For those interested in a follow up of that last post, here is a post about Room 2's Hoplites in action.

I'd be the tall one on the end!

  1. What a great day Nick; interactive, fun education which I bet none of the kids will forget. I'm sure plenty of imaginations were fired for life there ;)

    1. Thanks Monty. Hope so...who knows, they may end up laying with little toy soldiers!

    1. Cheers! The parents put in a huge amount of work - my helmet was made by one of them from the remains of an old hot water cylinder. Rolled, flattened, cut up, riveted, the whole nine yards!

  3. Very cool, really enjoyed that. I remember a teacher getting us to make spears and stuff for aboriginal studies at that age- but your class is way cooler.

    1. Thanks Bro! I know I enjoyed it, and I got a way cool helmet, three shields (the other two are still in the classroom) and a chiton out of it - all pulled together by other people!
