HOTT Numidian God

Good evening,

Here we have the final part of my HOTT Numidian army - the God element!

Inspiration? Well, I thought, "Right, Numidians. What would they worship?" And it occurred to me that, given the suddenness and destructiveness of a sand storm...why not? Ok, how to represent one? "Ahh..." thought I...

...courtesy of The Mummy.

Initially, I thought I'd just make a big three pronged claw thing from some strips of balsa I had lying around, but it looked kind of daft, so I glued paper between the gaps, covered them in sand, and created the 'facial features' through repeated application of PVA atop the dry sand with more sand sprinkled on.

He hasn't yet made an appearance in a game. Should come out to play in the coming up HOTT Day in July 2009.

  2. Thank you very much.

That's the beauty of Hordes of the Things - you can make and justify pretty much anything, no matter how silly it is! :-)

  6. I did think about it, but I decided to take the Skellies instead.

Lost one, won one. I'll post some pickies soon...

By the way, pity we didn't have assembly yesterday, Phoebe would have been in for a surprise...

  7. neat!

I haven't actually tried using a "God" in a HOTT army. Seems kind of risky - might not show up... if it does it might just leave...

Like you said the beauty of HOTT is it could be anything - if the "God"-thing doesn't work out, you could probably call it a Behemoth... or an Aerial Flyer... or even a magician!? a big mean scary looking lurker hiding in the "bad-going" dunes!?
