German Airpower Complete...

...well, for the meantime anyway. Still wouldn't mind a ME-110 to strafe the troops with...

Good afternoon,

Here is the completion of my German air power destined to fight over Greece and Crete. Eventually.

First my ME-109 that I finished last night.

Nice build, real pain in the but to paint! Used acrylics - painting very thin acrylic yellow atop German camo green and grey = many, many coats, sand downs and recoats to get looking reasonable.

The end product is good enough for me, and more than adequate for wargaming, but a true aircraft modeller would roll his eyes in derision!

Then on to the Stuka.

Again, those painted frames are less than perfect, but, well, they'll do the job.

Still think its smiling at me!

    Great work.

Funny you should mention the 109 and 110. You know my story behind the 109, but I've also been thinking about a 110 over the past week .. just because I like the look.

I'll keep an eye out for a couple of cheap 110s...but I'm trying to dig up $130 for an overdrive pedal!

  4. Nicely done Nick. You certainly catch the spirit and look of these two German mainstays.
I think the yellow looks smashing.

I'm looking forward to see whet you make of yours. Which campaign are you painting it for?

    2. I am thinking fairly generic myself...But the early to mid war yellow has captured my attention Nick!

I see those markings can be used for Southern Europe to early Russia campaigns so that may be my target.

      Halfway through the build now.

    3. Excellent! I was thinking I could also use it for an early Russian stoush. Though I'd have to use Robin's...which would put me on a hiding to nothing!

    2. It's interesting like most eras, but I've decided on a policy of disciplining myself to a few systems/periods for now, otherwise time, attention and money is just spread too thin.
